Back in the swing "Trade" sort of

I have'nt done any trading since Monday due to my isp being a pain in the backside, upshot is i am capped from 6.00pm to 12pm, reason being is i went over the 40Gb limit back in Febuary !! so i am in the process in changing. Anyhows i decided to trade the late afternoon and evening races for a total of 18 markets taking in £37.83 trading was fine until the evening races then it was like using dial up internet.
but i was happy with the profit taken using stakes of £30/35.

Cheers

  1. Hey Ron which ISPs are on your short list. Will be switching in the next few months, would be helpful to see what you are looking at.

  3. Hi Ron

I'm with Virgin Media and, although I have unlimited access, suffered the same problem due to my kids downloads & YouTube use and Virgin’s “fair usage policy”.

Even with a new provider you may find this “fair usage policy” could cripple evenings (with Virgin it was 16:00 – midnight).

I’d be interested to know how you get on changing and whether you can find a provider without the fair usage policy!

    Cheers

  4. Hi Andy, i have the same problems, only 18.00 to midnight, my son plays online on his xbox as i do when i get chance.
I have found that BT's Option 3 offers unlimited access, from their site "unlimited usage, Downloading as much as you want, when you want"

    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayCategory.do?categoryId=CON-TOTAL-BB-R1#tab4

still undecided as i would need to add line rental ontop of the cost

  5. Thanks Ron. I think Andy's right, its proving harder and harder to find an ISP in a lower price band without a crippling fair usage policy. I think the way forward is to pay that little bit extra for the quality. Am considering Zen Internet as mentioned by Leon shortly before he stopped blogging. I used to be with Sky a year ago and I found them to be great, although now it appears they are getting more and more people moaning about the activation of the fair use policy.
